International Union of Railways releases China's high-speed rail standards

Release time:2022-07-21

A few days ago, the International Railway Union issued and implemented the "High-speed Railway Design Infrastructure" standard and the "High-speed Railway Design Power Supply" standard formulated by my country. Both standards are the first international railway standards in related fields.

The International Union of Railways is the most influential professional international standards organization in the railway industry. The two standards released this time were presided over by experts organized by China National Railway Group, with the participation of more than 20 experts from more than ten countries including France, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Italy.

On the basis of summarizing the successful experience of world high-speed railway design and advanced technology of system integration, the two "standards" introduce the overall design concept of China's high-speed railway, absorb the basic key indicators such as train load pattern, line spacing, subgrade filling classification and tunnel surrounding rock classification of China's high-speed railway, and promote the superior technologies such as China's CRTSIII slab ballastless track, EMU repair process and contact network system, finally, the design concepts, key parameters and technical requirements in the fields of the overall design of the International Union of Railways, lines, roadbeds, bridges, tunnels, tracks, stations, EMUs, maintenance facilities, comprehensive protection, environmental protection, traction power supply and transformation, catenary, power supply and distribution and telecontrol systems have been established. It has contributed Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the construction and operation of high-speed railways in the world.

Huo Shibao, Chairman of the High Speed Committee of the International Union of Railways (UIC):International standards are an important technical basis for international trade and an important part of promoting the soft connectivity of the "Belt and Road" system rules. Fully relying on the international standardization platform, it presided over and participated in the formulation and revision of important railway technical standards, which significantly enhanced the international influence of China's railway standards.

China's high-speed rail 11 system-level standards to fill the international gap

By the end of 2021, China's high-speed rail operating mileage exceeded 40000km, accounting for more than 2/3 of the world's total high-speed rail mileage. In recent years, the National Railway Group has made great efforts to promote international standardization, and China's high-speed rail is moving from building a national business card to leading international standards.

In November last year, the International Railway Union issued the "High-speed Railway Design Communication Signal" standard formulated by my country. The "infrastructure" and "power supply" standards released this time are the second and third international standards in the "High-speed Railway Design" series. In recent years, experts from the National Railway Group have presided over and participated in the formulation and revision of more than 60 important technical standards of the International Railway Union for high-speed railways, train networks, braking systems, etc., and presided over the completion of the "High-speed Railway Implementation" and "High-speed Railway Design" 11 high-speed railway system-level standards, filling the gaps in international standards in key areas such as high-speed railway implementation and design. It comprehensively and systematically incorporates the successful experience, main innovations and superior technologies of China's high-speed railways from design concepts, technical equipment, key parameters to maintenance and repair, and is compatible with the relevant technologies and needs of high-speed railways in other countries.

Huo Shibao, Chairman of the High Speed Committee of the International Union of Railways (UIC):The inclusion of China's superior technologies and key parameters in international standards provides standard support and creates favorable conditions for the promotion of China's railway technology and the realization of the "going out" of China's railway system, all elements and the whole industry chain.

The construction of the Ma Dong railway project by Chinese enterprises has entered the peak period of construction.

At present, the Malaysia East Coast Railway, which is built by Chinese companies and designed with Chinese standards, has entered the peak period of construction. By the end of June, two hard rock roadheaders had been put into the construction of Genting Tunnel, a key control project along the whole line.

The Ma Dong Railway is the flagship project of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative between China and Malaysia. The 665-kilometer line connects important towns on the east coast of Malaysia and the economic center of the west coast. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in 2026, when it will fill the gap that there is no railway running through the east and west banks of the Malay Peninsula.

Adopting "China Standard" Yawan High-speed Railway to Enter Track-laying Stage

China's high-speed rail for the first time the whole system, all elements, the whole industry chain in the overseas landing project-Yawan high-speed rail has now entered the track-laying stage. As the first high-speed railway in Southeast Asia with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, what "Chinese standards" does it have "?

The first station after starting from Jakarta is the Halim station of the Yawan high-speed railway. It can be seen that ballastless track has been laid 30 kilometers near the station. This kind of ballastless track is the CRTS Ⅲ slab ballastless track, which is independently developed and has independent intellectual property rights in China.

Zhang Lixing, Commander of Indonesia's Yawan High-speed Railway Command of China Railway Third Bureau: Type III track slab has the advantages of simple structure and stable performance. In recent years, this kind of track slab has been used in the construction of high-speed railways in our country, such as Zheng-Xu, Jingshen, Ganshen, etc.

The CTCS-3-level train control system, one of the three core technologies of China's high-speed railway, is independently developed and produced by China Express. It is the "brain and central nervous system" of the high-speed railway. Through the wireless communication network and the ground wireless blocking center, the two-way information transmission between the vehicle and the ground is realized. The continuous speed control mode is adopted, and the system meets the two-line two-way operation.

Xiao Songxin, engineering director of Indonesia-China High Speed Railway Corporation (KCIC):In the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail in Indonesia, a series of Chinese high-speed rail technical standards such as engineering design and construction equipment have been successfully applied, providing technical support for the smooth progress of the project construction and will further consolidate my country's leading position in the world.

The Yawan high-speed railway is 142.3 kilometers long, connecting the Indonesian capital Jakarta and the fourth largest city Bandung, with a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After completion, the travel time between Jakarta and Bandung will be shortened from more than three hours to 40 minutes.

"China Standard" Railway Injects New Impetus for Development Along the Line

In recent years, railways designed and built according to Chinese standards have been continuously extended in countries in Asia, Africa and Europe, bringing new impetus to the economic and social development of countries along the route.

In March this year, the Belgrade-Novi Sad section of the Hungarian-Serbian railway, the first project for the docking of China's railway technical equipment and the European Union's railway interconnection technical specifications, was put into operation for the first time, realizing the direct connection of express trains between Belgrade, Serbia's largest city, and Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest city. The maximum running speed of the train was increased from 50 kilometers to 200 kilometers, and the running time was reduced from 90 minutes to 30 minutes, transport quality and efficiency have been greatly improved.

The China-Laos Railway, which connects Kunming, Yunnan, China and Vientiane, Laos, is a transnational railway designed according to the Chinese Railway Class I standard, invested and constructed by the Chinese side, jointly operated by the two countries and directly connected to the Chinese railway network. Seven months after its opening and operation, Vientiane South Railway Station has completed its replacement, and the China-Laos-Thailand Railway has realized interconnection. The transportation time from Kunming, China to Linchaban Port in Thailand is shortened by about one day compared with the replacement of cars, and the transportation cost is reduced by more than 20%, providing reliable transportation support for the construction of the China-Laos Economic Corridor and the China-ASEAN Community of Destiny.
