On September 28, the Xingning section of the Xingquan Railway, which was built by the China Railway Fifth Bureau, was officially opened to traffic, ending the history of 8 old revolutionary base areas including Ningdu without railways, greatly improving the traffic conditions in Fujian and Jiangxi, and helping the people in the Soviet area to dream for a century.
Xingquan Railway is a national first-class railway from Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province to Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is led out from Xingguo Station of Beijing-Kowloon Railway, passing through Xingguo, Yudu, Ningdu and Shicheng in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. Ninghua, Qingliu, Mingxi, Sanyuan District, Yong'an, Datian and other counties (cities, districts), finally to Quanzhou City, with a total length of 495.867 kilometers, 33 stations and a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
It is reported that the Xingquan Railway is an important part of the railway passage from the West Coast Economic Zone to the central and southwest regions. It is a regional passenger and freight railway focusing on the development of land and resources along the line and serving the old revolutionary base areas. The completion and opening of the Xingning section of the Xingquan Railway ended the history of 8 old revolutionary districts and counties in Ningdu and Shicheng in eastern Jiangxi and Ninghua, Qingliu, Mingxi, Datian, Dehua, and Yongchun in western Fujian. People in the old district have more convenient transportation and a substantial increase in the happy life index. At the same time, it has greatly promoted the economic development of Gannan and other former Central Soviet areas, and better integrated into the national "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative, which will bring great economic "changes" and inject new vitality into the social and economic development of the areas along the route.
