The reporter learned from China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. that on the 25th, the mobilization meeting for the construction of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the new Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu Yangtze River high-speed railway was held in Jingmen City, Hubei Province, marking the official start of construction of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu Yangtze River high-speed railway.
It is understood that the main line of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Yurong High-speed Railway along the Yangtze River is 313 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. There are Hankou, Hanchuan East, Tianmen North, Jingshan South, Zhongxiang South, Jingmen West, and Dangyang West., Yichang North and other 8 stations, the total construction period is 4 years. It is reported that in the design of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Yichang high-speed railway along the Yangtze River, the two existing railways in the Wuhan-Yichang corridor, the Changjing railway, the Han-Yi high-speed railway and the newly-built railway, have a reasonable division of labor, optimized the structural layout, selected a reasonable route direction, expanded the coverage of the road network and served more people at the same time, leaving room for further development of the local economy and railway network.
The Shanghai-Yurong high-speed railway along the Yangtze River is an important part of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" railway network and an important part of the "Implementation Plan for Promoting the Construction of High-speed Railway Corridors along the Yangtze River Economic Belt".
