On September 7, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia solemnly held a "Reception Celebrating the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China." Liberian President Joseph Boakai, government officials, friends from various sectors, representatives of international organizations, Chinese-funded enterprises, and overseas Chinese communities—over 200 people in total—gathered together to celebrate the remarkable 76-year journey of New China.

Hu Guangjin, Chairman and General Manager of Wuhan Jinhuasheng Company, and Executive Vice President of the Liberia Chinese Overseas Chamber of Commerce, attended the event as a guest speaker. Prior to the reception, Chairman Hu engaged in warm conversations with Liberian government officials and representatives from several Chinese-funded enterprises. The discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, such as China-Liberia economic and trade cooperation and infrastructure development, followed by a friendly exchange and a commemorative photo session. The atmosphere at the event was vibrant and harmonious, clearly highlighting the deep-rooted consensus and enduring friendship between China and Liberia.

As an outstanding representative of Chinese enterprises operating in Liberia, Wuhan Jinhuasheng Company has actively responded to the Belt and Road Initiative since 2019, steadily expanding its global footprint and dedicating itself to overseas infrastructure projects. In the Bangui-Mining Railway Rehabilitation Project in Liberia, the company rose to the challenge, overcoming numerous obstacles and successfully completing the railway restoration within just six months—achieving a single-phase operational launch. Since then, through continuous investment, equipment upgrades, and systematic optimization, the annual transportation capacity of the Bangui-Mining Railway has surged to 1.5 million tons. Today, the company is fully committed to scaling up further, aiming to boost capacity to 3 million tons—and eventually even 6 million tons—thereby injecting strong momentum into Liberia’s economic development and earning widespread recognition from both the Liberian government and society at large.

The reception officially kicked off amid the solemn national anthems of China and Liberia. In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu looked back on the remarkable 76-year journey of China's development since its founding, expressing China's willingness to further deepen Belt and Road cooperation with Liberia and jointly promote the sustained and healthy growth of bilateral relations. Liberian President Boakai warmly praised China's remarkable achievements and the fruitful outcomes of its collaboration with Liberia, emphasizing that Liberia will continue to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and looking forward to expanding practical cooperation with China in key areas such as infrastructure, mining, and transportation.

During the event, Liberian artists presented vibrant folk-inspired song and dance performances, while the Chinese martial arts show seamlessly blended strength with grace, earning continuous applause. Particularly noteworthy was the heartfelt and rousing rendition of "Sing My Country" by a chorus ensemble—featuring Liu Boyu and Liu Haize, employees of Wuhan Jinhuasheng Company, along with colleagues from Chinese enterprises operating in Liberia. Their passionate and inspiring melody beautifully conveyed the deep affection and sincere blessings that overseas Chinese have for their motherland, propelling the entire atmosphere to a thrilling climax and earning thunderous applause from the audience.

This reception was not only a grand celebration of National Day, but also a vivid testament to the friendship and cooperation between China and Laos. Both sides unanimously expressed their commitment to continue working hand in hand, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and writing a new chapter of China-Laos friendship for a brighter future.
