Release time:2025-09-10

On September 9, 2025, Song Haidong, Vice President of Baowu Resources Co., Ltd. and Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Baosteel Shipping (Logistics Center), led a delegation to conduct an on-site inspection of the Liberia Bang Mining Railway, with a particular focus on evaluating the railway system's capacity and operational readiness. Hu Guangjin, Chairman and General Manager of Wuhan Jinhuasheng Railway Locomotive Co., Ltd., accompanied the team throughout the visit and delivered a detailed report on the achievements made in railway rehabilitation, as well as the company's preparations to ensure a transportation capacity of 3 million tons.

During the survey, Song Haidong went deep into key areas of Zhonglilian Wharf, including the railway lines, material yards, reclaimers and conveyors. He carefully inspected the operation and maintenance status of the equipment, and conducted in-depth exchanges with on-site personnel on topics such as transportation capacity improvement and system collaboration.

In the report, Hu Guangjin pointed out that since undertaking the Bangkuang Railway restoration project at the beginning of 2023, Wuhan Jinhuasheng has invested a large amount of human and material resources. It took half a year to complete key tasks such as the renovation and reinforcement of five bridges, the maintenance of equipment along the entire line, and the replacement of sleeper switches. The entire line was put into operation on August 31, 2023. After the resumption of operation, the company has continued to promote system optimization, strengthened management along the line and hardware maintenance, comprehensively improved transportation capacity, and laid a solid foundation for the safe and efficient operation of Bangkuang Railway.

Hu Guangjin also stated that three more locomotives and 42 C70 open-top freight cars will arrive in Hong Kong one after another in the near future, undoubtedly injecting new momentum into Bangkuang Railway transportation. In addition, the company has already formulated comprehensive organizational plans and supporting measures for railway transport and loading/unloading operations of Bangkuang ore, ranging from 1.5 million to 6 million tons, along with detailed train schedules. Furthermore, the company has made thorough preparations in terms of both financial resources and human capital, fully equipping itself with the capacity to handle up to 3 million tons of cargo annually.

Song Haidong expressed his appreciation for Wuhan Jinhuasheng's systematic efforts and readiness in ensuring transportation capacity. He emphasized that the Bangkuang project encompasses five key stages—mining, crushing, highway transportation, railway logistics, and port-handling—and requires comprehensive coordination and close collaboration among all parties. Wuhan Jinhuasheng's solid preparations in railway transport capacity have laid a robust foundation for the overall project operations. Moving forward, all stakeholders should further strengthen their cooperation to ensure the smooth achievement of the 3-million-ton transportation target.

Gao Fu, General Manager of Baowu Shipping Zhoushan Wugang Port, and Jin Guang, General Manager of the Capacity Allocation Department at Baosteel Shipping (Logistics Center), participated in the调研. Zhang Xin, General Manager of Wuhan Jinhua Sheng Overseas Company, and Zhou Jianhang, Station Chief of the Liberia Port Station, accompanied them.

This survey marks the official transition of the Bangkuang Railway from its engineering restoration phase to a highly efficient operational stage. All parties expressed their intention to seize this opportunity as a catalyst to comprehensively enhance collaborative efficiency, thereby providing robust support for the project's overall advancement and the region's economic development.
