Tracing the Red Footsteps, Drawing on the Strength to Forge Ahead—The Party Branch of Wuhan Jinhuasheng Launches a Thematic Educational and Practical Activity: “Retracing the Long March Route”
Release time:2026-02-08
To commemorate the revolutionary martyrs, carry forward the red gene, and draw on the spirit of the Long March as a source of vigorous momentum for the high-quality development of our enterprise, on February 6, 2026, Hu Guangjin, Secretary of the Party Branch of Wuhan Jinhuasheng Railway Locomotive Co., Ltd., led party members and prospective party members to the Red Education Base in Pengyang County, Ningxia, to carry out a thematic educational practice activity titled “Retracing the Long March.” Following in the footsteps of the revolutionary forebears, they underwent rigorous Party-building training and spiritual purification.

Pengyang was an important stop along the Long March of the Red Army. In October 1935, Comrade Mao Zedong led the Central Red Army through this region, leaving behind a vivid red legacy. During the activity, participants retraced the footsteps of the Red Army’s Long March in Pengyang, visiting three key sites of red education one after another and immersively experiencing the contemporary significance of the Long March spirit. The first stop was the Xiaochagou Red Army Long March Campsite in Gutown—a site that marked the Red Army’s very first entry into Pengyang. Here, the very first cave dwelling where Comrade Mao Zedong stayed during the Long March has been preserved. Standing before the cave dwelling, the comrades gazed at the simple historical setting, deeply sensing the revolutionary leaders’ unwavering faith and strategic wisdom during those arduous years. Next, they entered the Red History Exhibition Hall, where, through illustrated documents, historical photographs, and authentic artifacts, they systematically studied the Red Army’s revolutionary journey in Pengyang and profoundly grasped the core essence of the Long March spirit: “Revolutionary ideals are higher than heaven.”

At the second stop, members of the Party branch visited the former site of Mao Zedong’s Long March encampment at Qiaojiachu in Changcheng Village, Chengyang Township—a base for national defense education under the autonomous region. At the former site of the Central Red Army Headquarters’ operations command center (then known as “Bureau Four”), Secretary Hu Guangjin and the group examined a map of the Red Army’s marching route, listened to narrations of heroic stories from that era, and relived the glorious chapters of those turbulent times. The touching moments of unity between soldiers and civilians and the courageous battle scenes made everyone feel as if they were right there in history itself, profoundly appreciating the faith-driven strength of the revolutionary forebears who fearlessly sacrificed themselves and pressed forward bravely for the nation’s liberation and the people’s happiness.

With hearts full of reverence, everyone made their way to the Ren Shanhe Martyrs’ Cemetery to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs. This site was the location of the first major battle for the liberation of Ningxia—the Battle of Ren Shanhe—where 391 revolutionary martyrs lie buried, including 364 PLA officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in that very battle. All participants stood solemnly in silence before the monument to the martyrs, laid wreaths, and listened attentively to an account of the fierce fighting. They deeply felt the heroic spirit of the revolutionary forebears, who faced death with equanimity and fought to the very end. This experience further strengthened their conviction and determination to carry forward the red legacy and courageously embrace the mission of development.

During the event, Secretary Hu Guangjin pointed out that the company is currently at a critical stage of deepening reform and striving toward its 2026 goal of high-quality development. The “Retracing the Long March Route” activity is perfectly timed and profoundly meaningful. The spirit of the Long March serves as a “nutrient” for staying true to our original aspirations, and even more so, as a “source of动力” for overcoming difficulties and surmounting challenges. The journey of enterprise development is itself a new-era Long March. We must carry forward and promote the precious qualities of our revolutionary forebears—firm信念, hard work, unity and solidarity, and the courage to achieve victory—empowering enterprise development with the red spirit.

He emphasized that in 2026, the company’s core task will be “deepening the construction of the five major systems and empowering high-quality enterprise development.” All Party members, cadres, and employees should draw strength from the spirit of the Long March: cultivate the strategic composure of “no matter how strong the wind or waves may be, we remain as calm as strolling through a tranquil courtyard”; rally the fighting spirit of “the Red Army is not afraid of long marches—mountains and rivers are mere trifles”; and turn the outcomes of red education into concrete actions for work and entrepreneurship. We must strictly uphold the safety bottom line, deeply cultivate high-quality markets, accelerate the transition to new energy, build a strong talent pool, and enhance management efficiency. With high morale and a solid work ethic, we must meticulously implement all tasks throughout the year and, through practical achievements, propel the company’s development to a new level.

Party members and prospective party members who participated in the activity unanimously expressed that this red-themed education was a profound exercise in Party spirit and a spiritual cleansing, enabling them to cherish even more the hard-won development achievements and further solidify their political conviction to heed the Party’s words and follow its lead. Everyone resolved unanimously to take the revolutionary forerunners as role models, infuse the spirit of the Long March into their daily work, stay committed to their posts, unite and strive together, and wholeheartedly implement the company’s 2026 work plans. With practical actions and a sense of responsibility, they pledged to write a new chapter of high-quality development for Wuhan Jinhuasheng and honor the revolutionary martyrs with tangible achievements.
